Marwell's Zany Zebras app for iPhone and iPad

Use this fabulous new app to discover a zeal of ‘Marwell’s Zany Zebras’ galloping through the streets of Southampton as well as miniature zebras at Marwell Zoo creating a fun, family friendly sculpture trail for all to enjoy for 10 weeks from 16 July 2016.

From mesmerising mosaics and glistening gems to colourful characters and crazy creations, 150 Southampton sculptures and a further 47 miniatures and one giant zebra sculpture are linked together by the app so users can tick off each zebra sculpture as it is found.

Awards are given as you find more and rewards will be unlocked the further you get along the zany trail.

Conservation charity, Marwell Wildlife has chosen a Grevy’s zebra sculpture to highlight the plight of the species in the wild. Grevy’s zebra suffered one of the most rapid and catastrophic declines of any large African mammal in the last 40 years and there are under 3,000 individuals left in the wild.

Find out fun facts about the zebra sculptures with the Marwells Zany Zebras zoo trail! Explore Marwell Zoo to find clusters of miniature zebras all inspired and created by artists who have designed an equivalent large sculpture in Southampton City Centre. Stop by at the giraffe house to learn how you can support our community based conservation programmes in Northern Kenya around Grevy’s zebras. Catch the M1 bus to visit the zoo and save 10% at admissions. Unlock awards as you progress through the app and you could also find up to 50% off bus travel in Hampshire.

As well as progress on the sculptures you have found, the app also tracks your steps as you walk the trail and awards are given for the number of steps tracked by the app as you find the sculptures.
